All the More..

Teacher and Student In A Classroom At School

It is a good thing to share our gifts, our talents, our resources.  When we do this we are extending ourselves and opening ourselves up to more and better.  It is so easy to get side-tracked and so caught up in ‘life’ that we forget how much better it is to share.

My sister and I have talked about it many times, and I always remember the scripture in, “…To whom much is given, much is required..”,  but I couldn’t remember where it was in scripture. It is  Luke 12:8.  Thank goodness for biblegateway.com.  You can find any scripture you are looking for right at your fingertips.

“To whom much is given”  I used to think of that as mainly financial.  As I continue life’s journey I realize this also means our gifts, talents, other resources as well.  What is so amazing is how God takes what we give and blesses it all the more.  As I understand it the ‘much is required’ means it is not a suggestion to share and bless others.  This is what we are ‘required’ to do.  Then God in His riches of glory, He takes it and makes it all the more.  WOW – that is cool!

We all have something to share.  It could be money, time, various skills, or ideas.  For instance, if I have an idea and you have an idea, we each have one, but when we share our idea we now both have two.  However, have you noticed that often when sharing the idea you actually multiply.  Instead of each having two ideas by combining our efforts we begin creating more ideas and it gets better and better.

What have you been given that you can share?

Dare to be Scared-2

delinda_pink3

New attitude, new opportunities, new chapter.  This is where we left off regarding my daughter and her ‘scary’ decision. She quit her job, left her friends, drove across the country and moved.  All to make a change for her future.

So where are we today?  Even as positive as I am, this happened so fast, and is so amazing, it is just so God. She sent out 7 resumes, on a Monday, by the end of the day, she had an interview on Tuesday, they hired her full-time on Wednesday.  She is now working, has benefits- yippee, and is getting ready to move into her own apartment.  It is such a God thing.  I know He has great plans for her.  She is working in a women’s rehab facility.  She will be able to help others, to make a difference, and she is good at it.

We all have times when we are called upon to make big and drastic changes, times when the change is subtle, and times of rest.  Wherever you are I wish you God’s blessing.  He has people for you to touch, a way to make a difference.  He does for all of us.  Isn’t that the Best?!

Many Blessings

Dare to be Scared

delinda_pink3

Dare to be Scared. The Quotes from the last post were amazing and thank you to all those who added to the list.  I guess the next question is what do we do with all those cool thoughts and ideas.

We can think about them or we can ACT on them.  It’s pretty simple really, just decide which one (s) you want to take to heart.  It may inspire you to think differently or to act differently.  It might even scare you – and that is OK.

Let me share a story. My daughter just made a huge change in her life.  You know the saying, ‘If you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’ve got”?  Well, she realized this.  She called a month or so ago and told me that she was beginning realize that if she continued to live in southern California, that she would never be able to get ahead.  It is so expensive to live out there.  Housing, gas, computing, etc., are so costly, and there are not a lot of job opportunities to make the kind of income to support it.  She thought it out, made a decision, made a plan, and then DID IT.  She took a little time, and got things set up, which is very important by the way to not be totally impulsive when you make these changes.

We lived in Kansas City for many years, basically where she grew up, and where her brother lives.  She sold some of her items, brought some of them to Vegas to leave with us, and then headed to KC to find a job and begin a new chapter in her life.  Drastic and a little scary–yes.  But here is the cool part, she was willing to do whatever it took, to make a change. She even told me she would waitress, which she hates, but she was willing to do it in order to open up opportunities for a better life.  She is now in KC, close to her brother and back with her friends.  New attitude, new opportunities, new chapter.

The change you want for your life may not be as drastic as this, but look at what you want.  What is your heart telling you?  Really listen.  You might be surprised at what God is saying.

Oh, and I’ll fill you in on her progress – next time =)

Many Blessings

Change – Resist or Embrace It

delinda_pink3

Change – many people like it, some are resistant, some hate it, and some won’t even think about it.  Which are you?

As I was getting my nails done last week, my nail tech and I talked about this.  There are so many people who are unhappy, hate their their job, their status in life, and tell us about it all the time.  There are those that want more but don’t do anything about it.   In my years in Mary Kay, and as I travel the country,  I have worked with a lot of women.  What I’ve found is  that many times a woman would rather stay in the ‘known’, even though she is unhappy, than take a chance for happiness in the ‘unknown’.

Sure change can be scary and overwhelming, but it can also be invigorating and wonderful.  It can open doors of opportunities that can enrich your life and take you to new places.  Personally, I love change.  Bill and I are risk takers, we like to step out of our comfort zone and mix things up a bit.

Some of you who know us may laugh at this as our day to day life is actually rather calm and sometimes seems boring. We don’t go out a lot, or do adventure vacations.  We tend to step out in the bigger things.  If you’ve read my blog a while you’ll remember we have moved over a dozen times and have owned a couple of companies.  I’ll talk to you sometime about the other personal changes I have been making as well.

Here’s a couple of thoughts for you

  1. What would you like to change in your life?
  2. What would that change look like?
  3. What is ONE step you could take today that could move toward that change?  (For instance, if you are seeking better health, maybe today drink more water, etc)

You have a choice, Yes you do.  You can stay where you are and keep getting what you’ve got (the definition of insanity being, if you keep on doing what you are doing, you will keep getting what you’ve got)

Or you can make one small change today, and then keep making small changes.  Next week, next month, next year, your life will be different based on the choices you are making today.  (Oh that sounds like  song…… maybe I’ll write one =)

Blessings

SMILE =)

delinda_pink3

“Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person,  a beautiful thing.”   Mother Teresa.

Some of you read these wonderful quotes from Mother Teresa this week on Facebook, but in case you missed them, or would like to read again– Here are a few.  Have a blessed weekend.

images“Spread the love of God through your life but only use words when necessary.”

“The person who gives with a smile is the best giver because God loves a cheerful giver.”

“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.”  (OOOO I love this one)

“A life not lived for others is not a life.”

“We know only too well that what we are doing is nothing more than a drop in the ocean. But if the drop were not there, the ocean would be missing something.”

“I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot; together we can do great things.” (AMEN- isn’t this great?!)

“Let us make one point, that we meet each other with a smile, when it is difficult to smile. Smile at each other, make time for each other in your family.”

“The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.”

“We, the unwilling, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, for so long, with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing.”    (Now this one is deep… gotta think about it a while)

“Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.”

“The hunger for love is much more difficult to remove than the hunger for bread.”

“It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”

“Smile at each other. Smile at your wife, smile at your husband, smile at your children, smile at each other- it doesn’t matter who it is-and that will help to grow up in greater love for each other.”

SMILE!  ENJOY YOUR DAY =)

Off the Back Burner

delinda_pink3

It’s never to late to start. Do you have a dream?  Is there something inside that you know in your heart of hearts that you want to do or to be?  What is it?  Say it out loud.  Was that a whisper I heard?  How about saying it again a little louder this time. How does it feel?  You might even need to say it a couple of times, maybe everyday for a while just to make it real.

Maybe you are not where you thought you’d be right now.  Maybe you have even thought about giving up, letting go of the dream, or maybe that dream is just barely alive inside you, it’s far away on the back burner.  Do you remember the dream?

So often we let the needs of others get in our way, or maybe you don’t think you have what it takes, or it could be that you’ve been told you ‘Can’t’. Well that is just not true.  You have what it takes. God planted seeds of greatness inside you.  He is the One who gives you the desires of your heart.

Here are a  few tips on how to take it off the back burner and move it forward.

  1. Think and pray about the dream
  2. Write it down- Say it out loud – make it real
  3. What would it take to realize the dream
  4. Make a plan
  5. What is the first step you could take TODAY
  6. Think and pray about 1,2,3,4,5
  7. Decide and begin

Simple – right?   Easy – not so much.  You are fighting against what you’ve been told and what you believe about yourself.  You don’t have to stay in that place. Believe in who you were created to be.  Believe it. You deserve all the joy and blessings that God has in store for you.

Blessings
